Who can join newsXpress?

All current contracted newsagents, who can demonstrate a customer service focus, proactive and positive personal attributes and an ability to effectively operate within a team environment, may submit an Expression of Interest form to newsXpress. On receipt of the completed form, the newsXpress management team and existing members assess the expression of interest for synergies between the individual and the group.

Why do I need to become a member of a marketing group?

It is becoming increasingly more difficult for independent newsagents to protect their businesses from competitive threats. Lessors and Centre Managers are displaying a trend towards supporting the assignment of leases to participants in 'chains' or 'franchises' where the incumbent brings with them an identifiable brand and contributes towards driving traffic flow to their centres by consumer advertising.

newsXpress has been formed to meet the marketing needs of newsagencies who wish to operate under a dynamic brand and provide excellent customer service. It is important to newsXpress that members retain their independence. newsXpress has a professional and ethical approach to business, combining many years of newsagency experience with sound business and commercial practices.

What are the benefits of joining newsXpress?

Although newsXpress cannot guarantee any specific tangible or intangible gains to individual members' newsagencies, newsXpress members do enjoy certain benefits. It is important to acknowledge that the return on investment for each member is directly proportional to the level of commitment and involvement with the group. What fees are associated with becoming a member of newsXpress?

Application Fee $1,100 (inc GST) payable on lodgment of Expression of Interest to join newsXpress and is refundable should the application be rejected, less 50% that shall be retained by newsXpress to cover the cost of processing the Expression of Interest. Monthly Membership Fee $495 (inc GST) payable by direct debit on the first day of each calendar month.

How do I express my interest to join newsXpress?

Contact newsXpress Head Office to express your interest. We will arrange to contact you to discuss the newsXpress system and answer any questions you may have. If you remain interested in joining the group following initial discussions, newsXpress shall provide you with all relevant documentation required to make your decision.
